Conjugation of applaudir – to clap

J’applaudis – I clap

Tu applaudis – You clap

Il/elle/on applaudit – He/she/everybody claps

Nous applaudissons – We clap

Vous applaudissez – You clap

Ils/elles applaudissent – They clap

La négation

Subject + ne/n’ + verb + pas – This costruction shows it is a negative sentence.

Remplir – to fill

Je ne remplis pas – idon’t fill.

Tu ne remplis pas – You don’t fill

Il/Elle/On ne remplit pas – He/she/everybody doesn’t fill

Nous ne remplissons pas – We don’t fill

Vous ne remplissez pas – you don’t fill

Ils/elles ne remplissent pas – They don’t fill

·        If there is un/une/des in affirmative sentence, when you change it to negative write de/d’ instead of it.

·        E.g. Il mange des fruits.           – Il ne mange pas de fruits.

·        But if the sentence has être conjugation then this change is not done. E.g. C’est un livre.   – Ce n’est pas un livre.

Les nombre ordinaux

1)    Un – premier/première

2)    Deux – deuxième

3)    Trois – troisième

4)    Quatre – quatrième

5)    Cinq – cinquième

6)    Six –sixième

7)    Sept – septième

8)    Huit –huitième

9)    Neuf – neuvième

10)                       Dix – dixième

So to make an ordinal number take the cardinal number and add ‘ième’ at the end.

Exceptions are shown in bold.

If the number spelling ends with ‘e’ drop it and add ‘ième’

Note the following

Vingt – et-un – vingt et unième

Trente – et-un – trente et unième and so on.
